WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, currently head of the Senate Judiciary Committee, will seek to lead the chamber’s Finance Committee when the next Congress convenes in January, he said in a statement on Friday.

In recent weeks, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has publicly stated that he would aim to take over the chairmanship of the Judiciary panel if there was a vacancy.
